Week 14- 14th Febuary

This weekend I had my final review meeting with my client, and this week I am going to start my evaluation. Everything else has been completed now so I am on the last phrase of my project. Hopefully the evaluation will be completed by Friday but if not I intend to complete the evalaution over half term.

Week 13- 7th Febuary

I have now finished testing completely, the questionaires have been done and I got feedback from 5 people from them. Only one more change was made to my product from testing. Now I am going to write the user guide, and when that's finished,  show my product to the client. After hat I can start to write my evaluation, which I hope to have finished by the 18th.  I am happy with the progress that has been made and hopefully within the next two weeks everything will be finished.

Week 12 - 31st January

Now all that I have left to do on testing is create some questionnaires, and then hand them out to receive feedback. I haven't made too many changes from testing, only a few things needed to be altered which saved me a lot of time. After that is finished I will spend a day writing up my user guide for the product, then show the product to my client. I then intend to start writing my evaluation. I am happy with how testing has gone, it took me quicker than expected and according to my first few plans I wouldn't have started it until this week, so really I am quite ahead of my original intentions which I am pleased about. 


My senior manager is now back, which is good that she is back for the last few weeks, and last week I had a stand in manager so it didn't cause too many issues. Hopefully the next few tasks will run smoothly and I will finish everything in time, at the minute I am confident that this will happen fine. 

Week 10 - 17th January

I have now finished my product to what I am happy with. I showed it to the multimedia specialist and he was generally happy with it also, but gave me some improvements I could do. I was planning on showing it to the senior manager today however she is not in college this week so that will have to be put back. I am missing next lesson due to a university interview so this does hold me back slightly but I will get the changes to my product done this week, before i go away next Wedensday.

I am still not worried that me being away next week will affect my work, as I have finished my product now and I just need changes to do this week. The senior manager being off this week does mean I cannot see her about my product, so I cannot get any chanes from her now because I am away from next week. This isn't a huge importance but its a shame that I cannot recieve her feedback, as I won't have time to do her changes.

I am on task according to my plan, and this week I will be working on changes to my product.

Week 9- 10th January 2011

Almost Finished Developing

I now only have a few slides left to develop. After completing these I will be meeting with the multimedia specialist to go over the product and then I have time afterwards to make any changes to the product. I am really happy with how it has went and feel I am definately on track. I intend to finish developing by the end of this week/into next week and then meet my multimedia consult.

After that i will move onto testing my product, giving it to peer reviewers with a test plan and I will make changes based on their feedback.

Week 8- 4th January 2011

Still In Development

 

I have just returned to college after two weeks of college. Through the christmas holiday's I didn't do any work as I felt i was on track for my plan. I came back today and changed my plan so that I started testing a week later, as even though i am on track, i am on holiday at the end of the month and thought it was best to save testing until i came back. I still have enough time to do that and it means I have extra time to make changes to development. I feel happier about this as I don't have to worry about starting anything new before I go away.

 

I no longer have my free trial with Flash at home so I cannot work from home anymore, but I am not worried about this as I don't have many slides to complete now.

 

Week 7 - 13rd December 2010

Still In Development

I am still continuing on with development. I have showed certain slides to my client, such as an 'areas' slide and also removed a slide after asking him if that was okay with him. I am almost half way through developing now, and i am really happy with where i am at. I have lots of time to finish development so I am not worried about getting the product done in time. 

My free trial ends in around 17 days however, so I can only continue with making the product at home for a few more weeks but I am confident that my time at college alone after that will be enough to get it finished. My plan has changed slightly this week as I have moved some of the tasks and dates around for development, and gave myself an extra day for testing. All in all I am very happy with the project right now. 

Week 6- 6th December 2010

Still In Development

I am now underway with development, having got the main slides started, but i still have alot of slides to finish. I have edited all the images and video's needed. I also got my technical documentation back and the multimedia specialist is happy with that. I have added most of the buttons in my development work so now all that's left to do is just continue with the text and images.

There were no more snow days at college, so i was able to carry on the rest of the week fine so i'm not delayed anymore. I downloaded a trial of flash professional so that if there was anymore snow days i could continue with my development work at home. There are no problems so far and I am happy to continue on with development.

Week 5- November 29th 2010

Starting Development 


Design has now been finished, i added some examples of animation last week to finish it off. I believe it has been finished fully, but i am now awaiting comments from the multimedia specialist about it. 


I couldn't change my project plan today like planned as there was a snow day at college therefore i did not have access to the plan to change it. I think i am on task to start development this week, however if there is more snow days i will be delayed with that too. I will be spending the next month or so on development now so i hope i can start that tomorrow like planned otherwise i will be behind. 

Week 4- November 22nd 2010

Protoptying Done, Design Almost Done

I have shown the client some prototypes of the product, including different navigation he might want. He choose a final one and now the final design is finished. I do however need to include some examples of animation to show to the client and some timelines. I have spoke to the multimedia consultant and he gave me advice on navigation to help me find some different forms of navigation for the client.

My plan dates have been changed for the first time, as i needed to move development to start later because i felt i wanted to do some more on design before moving on. My meeting with the senior manager went well regarding the risk assessment and the changes to that have been completed. A meeting has also took place about my project plan, and a few extra's have been added to that such as dependencies.

This week i am hoping to finish design completely , ready to start development properly next monday.

Week 3- November 15th 2010

Half Way Through Design & Prototyping Started

At the end of last week i found out the client's final design choice, out of the three i had designed. I had a meeting with him and found out which one he wanted, and then started creating prototypes based on the final design. This week i intend to finish both design and prototyping, having a storyboard created and a few examples of the final product to show to the client. I am intending to organize my first meeting with my multimedia consultant sometime this week to discuss prototyping.

My first progress report has been written now and i found i have no problems so far. I also updated my plan with a few changes but i'm not worried about where i am and feel everything is on track so far. My risk assessment has also been completed and i am having a meeting with the senior manager this week to discuss that.

Week 2- November 8th 2010

First Plan Completed & Design Started

This week i've started my design for my project. My functional requirements has been completed for what i intend to put into my project, so i am on task for that. With design so far i have a mock up of one design and all the images i am going to include. i have also designed a video of which style i think i will be using for the rest of my videos. i also designed some navigation buttons, and I have contacted the client via email, asking him which navigation he wanted of the three i had designed. 


I have also now completed my first project plan. I felt this was quite easy to create and think it will hopefully be simple to stick to. I am expecting to having another meeting with my senior manager regarding the project plan on Thursday 11th November . This week i intend to have another two design's done and then contact the client regarding which one he wants for the final one. I also intend to write my first progress report this week.

Week 1- November 1st 2010

Proposal & Definition Feedback

After a few weeks of working on my proposal and definition, my senior manager had gone through them and wanted to arrange a meeting with me to hand them back to me and go over anything. I arranged to meet her on November 1st, at 3.40 at QE college. I created an agenda for the meeting which I gave a copy of to her. In the meeting, my senior manager Jackie Suter handed me back my project proposal and definition with no problems. She thought that it was great and was very pleased with them both, and didn't want me to change anything. I then recorded the minutes of this meeting in a word document.

My next task is to start creating my first project plan.
